Name Your Own Fee Adoption Event

posted in: ARLGP News on:

We’re working hard with partners in regions preparing for hurricane Florence, to welcome adoptable pets from shelters over the upcoming weeks. As an emergency placement partner to HSUS, ASPCA and Best Friends, we are proud to be able to extend our safety net to these regions in need of support.

In anticipation, we will be holding a name your own fee adoption event Friday, September 14th through Sunday, Sunday September 16th. All dogs and cats over the age of one and all small animals will be available for adoption for the fee of the adopter’s choosing. Help us make room for hurricane-impacted pets by adopting!

In addition, any gift made to our current September Match Campaign helps support our emergency response work– and is doubled up to $25,000 by our partner IDEXX. Make your matched gift now: ARLGP.ORG/MATCH

What should I name as an adoption fee?
On average, our cost of care is $505.11 per dog, $352.42 per cat, and $222.50 per small animal. While your fee can be what you choose during this event, we ask that you take into consideration our investment in providing the highest level of care to pets that walk through our doors.

What is your adoption process?
Our adoption process is always first-come, first-served at our facility. Our adoption counseling process will be the same during this event as any other day at the ARLGP. You can read up on our adoption process here.

How do I see adoptable animals?
Hop over to our available dog page, cat page or small animal page. These pages are updated each night and early morning with new animals, as well as when animals are adopted.

I can’t adopt right now. How else can I help?
